Our Pipe Bursting Services

Full Sewer Line Replacement

Replace your entire main sewer line from cleanout to city connection using trenchless pipe bursting — no excavation required.

HDPE Pipe Installation

High-density polyethylene pipe is corrosion-proof, root-resistant, and rated for 50+ years. We use only Schedule 40 HDPE fused for a seamless run.

Static Pipe Bursting

Ideal for clay, cast iron, and Orangeburg pipe. Our static bursting head fractures the old pipe outward while the new HDPE is pulled in behind it.

Pneumatic Pipe Bursting

For larger diameter lines and heavily deteriorated pipe, pneumatic bursting delivers the force needed to replace even the most damaged sewer mains.

Pre-Replacement Camera Inspection

Every job starts with a live sewer camera inspection to confirm pipe bursting is the right solution and map the exact line path.

Post-Installation Inspection & Warranty

After installation we run a final camera inspection to verify the new HDPE line is seated correctly. All work is backed by our workmanship warranty.

Why HDPE Pipe?

Not all replacement pipe is equal. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is the gold standard for trenchless sewer replacement — and the only material we use.

Corrosion-Proof

HDPE never rusts, corrodes, or degrades from soil chemicals or sewage gases.

Impervious to Roots

Seamless fused joints leave no gaps for tree roots to infiltrate — the #1 cause of sewer failures in LA.

Flexible & Earthquake-Safe

HDPE flexes under ground movement, making it ideal for Southern California's seismic activity.

50+ Year Lifespan

Engineered to outlast your home's other systems with zero maintenance required.

Smooth Interior Flow

The smooth bore reduces buildup and improves flow capacity over old clay or cast iron pipe.

Environmentally Safe

HDPE is non-toxic, recyclable, and approved for potable water and sewer applications by all California codes.

How Pipe Bursting Works

  1. 01

    Camera Inspection

We run a live video camera through your sewer line to assess pipe condition, locate blockages, and confirm pipe bursting is viable.

  2. 02

    Access Point Excavation

We dig two small access pits — one at each end of the line. No long trenches, no tearing up your yard.

  3. 03

    Bursting Head Insertion

A hydraulic or pneumatic bursting head is threaded through the existing pipe, attached to the new HDPE pipe behind it.

  4. 04

    Simultaneous Burst & Pull

The bursting head fractures the old pipe outward into the surrounding soil while pulling the new HDPE pipe into position in one continuous pass.

  5. 05

    Connection & Testing

The new HDPE line is connected at both ends, pressure-tested, and inspected by camera to confirm a perfect installation.

  6. 06

    Site Restoration

We backfill and compact the two small access pits. Your yard, driveway, and landscaping remain virtually untouched.

Signs You Need Sewer Line Replacement

Frequent Backups

Recurring clogs in multiple drains signal a collapsed or severely deteriorated main sewer line.

Sewage Odors

Persistent sewer smell inside or outside your home indicates cracks or breaks in the line.

Soggy Yard Patches

Wet spots or unusually lush grass over the sewer line path often mean a leaking or broken pipe.

Slow Drains Throughout

When every drain in the house runs slow, the problem is in the main line — not individual fixtures.

Rodent Intrusion

Rats and mice enter homes through cracked sewer pipes. Repeated infestations are a red flag.

Old Clay or Orangeburg Pipe

Homes built before 1980 often have clay or Orangeburg sewer pipe that is well past its service life.

Pipe Bursting FAQs

How long does pipe bursting take?
Most residential sewer line replacements are completed in a single day. Longer runs or complex access situations may require two days.
Is pipe bursting approved in Los Angeles?
Yes. Trenchless pipe bursting is fully approved by the City of Los Angeles and LA County. All our work is permitted and inspected.
How much does pipe bursting cost vs. traditional replacement?
Pipe bursting typically costs 30–50% less than open-cut replacement once you factor in the excavation, restoration, and landscaping costs of traditional methods.
Can pipe bursting be used on any sewer pipe?
Pipe bursting works on most pipe materials including clay, cast iron, Orangeburg, and PVC. A camera inspection confirms suitability before we begin.
What size pipe can be replaced with pipe bursting?
We replace residential sewer lines from 4" to 12" diameter. We can also upsize your line during the burst — for example, replacing a 4" clay pipe with a 6" HDPE line.
